Heads up guys! There appears to be a new problem called “Black Screen of Death (B.S.O.D.)” with Windows XP, Vista and 7. This problem has been reported to have been caused by the latest Windows Security Update.
First, the ILLEGAL OPERATIONS then the “Blue screen of Death”, now we have the new “Black screen of Death”. Now that’s creative!
Apparently, the BLACK SCREEN OF DEATCH affects all recent version of Windows Operating System namely Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.
What happens is that the Windows Desktop fails to load properly and all the user can see is the mouse and sometime the MY COMPUTER or COMPUTER icon. (Depends on which version of Windows you are using). This problem appeared to have been caused by the latest security updates released by Microsoft and causing some and not all machine to get the “Black Screen of Death”.
Of course like what they all say.. the Redmond Giant issue a statement saying…
“Microsoft is investigating reports that its latest release of security updates is resulting in system issues for some customers, Once we complete our investigation, we will provide detailed guidance on how to prevent or address these issues.”
So far the only solution that I can see it to revert back to a date where the updates was not installed on the computer.
