Unboxing the Sony Vaio Series E (VPCEA16FA)

Written by | Gadgets, Tech

I recently got a Sony Vaio E Series (VPCEA16FA). That uses an Intel Core i5-520M Processor and an ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 Graphics add the 4GB stock RAM, then this unit can easily be a gaming laptop.

Here’s a sample specs of the Sony Vaio E Series:
OS: Windows® 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-520M Processor 2.40 GHz
RAM: 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM (up to 8 GB)
Display: 14″ wide TFT (WXGA:1366 x 768 screen resolution)
Dimension: 345.8 mm x 27.3-32.9 mm x 238.7 mm (W x H x HD)
Weight: 2.35 kg with battery
Storage: 500 GB Serial SATA (5400 rpm)
ODD: CD/DVD Writer Combo
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 Graphics with 1 GB DDR3 RAM
Connection: Integrated Wireless LAN IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR, built-in network card
Ports : ExpressCard 34×1, USB 2.0 (3), Analogue RGB, mini D-sub 15 pin, stereo mic and head set jack, HDMI, Memory Stick Pro duo and SD card reader
Camera: Front Facing camera with 640 x 480 effective pixels
Battery: VGP-BPS22A Lithium-ion battery
Price: SR4,599 or Php 55,700

You can choose from blue, white, red, black and neon green. Additional bonus is that the unit includes a laptop bag, so you do not need to worry on how you will be carrying around your new vaio. The unit cost just about SR 4,599 (Saudi Riyals) or just about Php 55,700, if the exchange rate is 12.1 Pesos for 1 Riyal.

I’ll be playing around and use this baby a bit more and be back in a few weeks for the review. For now check out the other pictures that I took for the unit.

Update: Price and color
