Just like what the title said “Is Microsoft trying to acquire Adobe?” that’s the question in everyone’s mind after their so-called secret meeting that lasted for more than an hour. The meeting includes Microsoft’s head honcho Steve Balmer and Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, the meeting covered alot of things including the rising influence of Apple to the mobile market.
According to NY Times.
The meeting, which lasted more than an hour, covered a number of topics, but one of the main thrusts of the discussion was Apple and its control of the mobile phone market and how the two companies could team up in the battle against Apple. A possible acquisition of Adobe by Microsoft were among the options.
Unlike the AOL-Time Warner merger and Intel-Mcafee acquisition, this will be between two software companies that are also competitor on alot of front multi-media, web publishing and more but both have little
if no influence at all in the mobile market, which explains Apple name coming up in the meeting and its rising influence on the mobile market via iPhone and iPad, of course there’s also Google which of course have Android, another rising mobile star.
If anything will happen with the combine Microsoft and Adobe is that they in position to rake in millions if not billions of revenue and that’s with PhotoShop alone. But can the combine company be a big mobile player like what Apple and Google is right now? Or are in for another monopoly contest?
