New Themes for YouTube and Gmail: How to get them?

It appears that Google is slowly and surely trying to adopt the new Google+ to different Google brands. First the Search or main Google.com page, then the newly revamped Blogger.com, now Youtube and Gmail.

In Youtube, they are calling it Cosmic Panda, where the UI will look totally different. It will affect the videos, playlists, channels and more. All you need to do is to just visit http://www.youtube.com/cosmicpanda then just click on the blue TRY IT OUT! button.

If you want to go back to the old Youtube UI, then just go back to http://www.youtube.com/cosmicpanda then just click on the OLD VERSION link.

Now on Gmail, there are actually 2 new themes that Google introduced earlier this month. The PREVIEW (DENSE) and PREVIEW, both themes look might similar and if you checked out the new Blogger.com UI from the Blogger in Draft you will immediately notice the similarities, from the buttons, fonts and color themes.

Here are a quick look on how the PREVIEW and PREVIEW (DENSE) Gmail themes looks like.

If you interested on how to change the themes of your Gmail, just follow the steps below.
1. By now you should see the GEAR icon located on the upper-right corner of your screen, click on it then select MAIL SETTINGS.

2. On the MAIL Settings screen, click on the THEMES tab that you will see on the far right end of the screen, it should be between OFFLINE and BUZZ tab.

3. Then on the THEMES tab, scroll down and locate the PREVIEW or PREVIEW (DENSE) themes, just double click on the themes that you want and it should take effect immediately.

4. Just follow the first 3 steps if you want to revert back to the old Gmail themes.

From the looks of these updates, it appears that Google is starting to streamline all Google products for the official roll-out of the Google+ service. So what do you think about these new “changes” to YouTube and Gmail?
