It took them long enough so I just installed the Facebook app for iPhone. But finally the Facebook App for iPad is online and it will be a 10.5 MB update if you installed the Facebook app for iPhones on your iPad. The Facebook app for iPad was reported to have been scrapped because Facebook appeared to be prioritizing the web (html5) app version with a code name “PROJECT SPARTAN” but I guess that all in the past now. Though I pretty sure that SPARTAN will eventually go live one way or the other.
Anyway the Facebook App for iPad is like the web version of Facebook, only this version it optimize for touch UI, you can play your favorite FB games, easy navigation on photos, you can use the app to manage your FB Pages which is a big plus for me.
The Facebook iPad app incorporated all the element of the web version. It has the Groups, Pages, Feeds, Messages, Photos, Notes, Friends and Events accessible at the left side, while the Notification section at the top left and the Friendlist and chat window on the right side. It looks like Facebook designed the app with the user experience in mind.
One thing is certain, if Google will not respond by releasing a well designed G+ App for iPad or tablet, then G+ will be left behind by Facebook.
If you still have not downloaded the Facebook app for iPad, you can download the Facebook App here.
