Just bought my son his birthday present (picture above) and as much as I want to wait for the upcoming PSP Vita, the Representative at Sony World said that the new Vita will not be available or in his own “word”, it will “not be sold here (Riyadh) for the next 3 months“, so I after shopping, I did some research and it looks like The PSP Vita will indeed not be available until late February and that’s in the US, no word yet as to when it’ll be available for the rest of the world.
If you want to have the bragging rights to be the first gamers to have PSP Vita, you can either find a friend who lives in Japan or if you’re filthy-rich then just spend your holiday in the land of the rising Sun, since PSP Vita will be first available there this December with 26 games, though there have been reports that PSP Vita will be compatible with old PSP titles.
Sony PS Vita Specs:
ARM® Cortex™-A9 core (4 core)
5 inches (16:9), 960 x 544, Approx. 16 million colors, OLED Multi touch capacitive screen
Rear Multi touch capacitive pad
Front and Rear camera
Six-axis motion sensing system (three-axis gyroscope, three-axis accelerometer), Three-axis electronic compass
Built-in GPS, Wi-Fi location service support
3G, WiFi 802.11b/g/n (with Ad-hoc mode)
Bluetooth® 2.1+EDR (A2DP/AVRCP/HSP)
In the United States, PSP Vita will be sold for $250 for the Wifi-only model and $300 for the 3G connectivity from AT&T. As for the PSP that I bought.. well I’ve downloaded a couple of games and the 16 GB memory card is now down to just 500 MB of free space.
