Looks like Apple will now offer the Facetime feature to the locally released iPhone 4S, well at least that’s what Apple Saudi Arabia posted on the iPhone 4S product page.
Apple originally disable or did not include Facetime to both locally released iPhone 4 and iPad 2. That’s the reason why there are two edition of iPhone 4 and iPad 2 being sold here in the KSA and buying an iPhone 4 or iPad 2 with facetime also has it’s price where the idevice with Facetime is SAR500 to SAR1000 more expensive than those locally released idevices.
I’m sure people who bought the iPhone 4S before the device was officially here in KSA will feel disappointed (and somewhat upset), specially now that locally released (Facetime included) iPhone 4S is SAR 1,000.00 cheaper than those iPhone 4S sold before December 16,2011.
Update: I went back to Jarir and clarified if indeed that the locally released iPhone 4S that they’re selling has facetime enabled and it looks like the locally released iPhone 4S like the one that I just bought does not have Facetime and if you want Facetime then you need to buy the imported iphone 4S units, so we can just assume that the more expensive (imported) iPhone 4S have facetime.
