VideoLan the group behind video-codec friendly player VLC Player just released the VLC 2.0 RC version. The new version is available on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux systems, though 64-bit Windows user may have to wait a little longer and will have new features like a redesigned subtitle manager, support for (multiple) video files inside RAR archives, New UI and for Mac user they get to enjoy the new Blu-ray media support.

Since this is just the RC version don’t expect this update to be pushed to your current VLC automatically but if you want to try-out the upcoming version, you can download it here and VideoLan posted a number of screen shots at Flickr.
