Together with the new iPad, Apple also announce an updated version of it’s Apple TV and no this is not the Apple TV set that Steve Jobs mentioned in the book. This is the same Apple “hobby” TV setup box but this new Apple TV will now feature 1080p programming including iTunes® movies, TV shows, Netflix, Vimeo, photos and it’s fully integrated with iCloud and iTunes Store. The new Apple TV allow you to stream or mirror the content that you are viewing on your iOS devices to the Apple TV via AirPlay.
Specs wise the new Apple TV is using the same A5 Chip, HDMI, Micro-USB and 10/100BASE-T Ethernet for connectivity and Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n), it’ll also have its own Apple Remote but if you install the Remote app, you can use iPhone, iPad or iPod touch as the remote.
The new Apple TV will be available on March 16, with an SRP of $99 a pop. With a refresh specs and newly integrated feature, it looks like the “I cracked it!” Apple TV may not make it debut anytime soon, though I’m hoping it will.
