Samsung may be the top smartphone manufacturer beating out 14 year-leader Nokia and the biggest smartphone maker in terms of global shipments in Q1 2012 but it looks like Apple iPad is the most use tablet for web surfing, at least that’s what Chikita said in their report at Chitika Insights.
According to Chitika Insights said that “the iPad accounted for 94.64% of all tablet based traffic” and all other platform are fighting on what’s left of the tablet web traffic. Next to Apple, Samsung’s Galaxy Tabs comes in at 1.22%, then taking the last place is Barnes and Noble Nook 0.53% traffic share, which is surprising since B&N Nook is used primarily as an ebook reader. But what’s interesting in the report is that of all 7 tablets mentioned, only iPad and BB Playbook are not running Android OS by Google.
With the release of the new iPad, this figure will still increase and another thing that you need to take note is that this reports is based on data coming from chikita ad impression using tablets and nothing else.
