That didn’t take long! It appears that Apple is now making it’s move to make the new iPad available to the Chinese market and it will be this coming July 20. Apple made the announcement after settling the “iPad” trademark dispute with Proview for $60 million more than a week ago.
China with it’s more than 1 billion population, is said to be the biggest market to any global company and Apple is making sure that they’ll be able to capture that market without any legal issue.
Both the Wifi and Wi-Fi + Cellular models of the new iPad will be offered by Apple through the Apple Online Store, selected Apple Authorized Resellers and by reservation from Apple retail stores. Just like in the United States, Apple will also be selling the iPad 2 at a much lower price. Apple did not mention exact price but if we assume that the new iPad will have the same US price then we can assume that the starting price for the new iPad (Wifi) 16 GB will be around ¥3200 (Chinese Yuan) and the 64 GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model will be around ¥5285 (Chinese Yuan).
You can be sure the before July 20, Apple will release the actual price for the new iPad that will be sold in China.
