Yahoo! was recently had a security breach exposing the password of more than 450k Yahoo account, after reading the article that Bryan wrote here, I immediately change the password of my yahoo account (yes, I still have a yahoo account, 2 of them actually), you can never be too sure specially with these recent security breach from companies that you thought are impregnable and keep your account safe and secured.
And just to be sure that my account is not one of those 450k Yahoo accounts that had their password exposed, I used Yahoo Leak Password Checker by Sucuri Labs. It’s a simple tool that will tell if your Yahoo account is part of the recent Yahoo Voice Password leak. All you need to do is to type in your Yahoo email address and just click on that large green CHECK EMAIL button. It will then tell if your account is found in the leak or not, if its included, Sucuri Labs have 3 things that you need to do.
1. Change your Yahoo passwords
2. Change the password for any site that you were re-using the same password
3. Or you can go even further and change all your passwords. Now is a good day to do so.
Even though my account is not included in the 450k, I change the password to my yahoo account and sites that uses those email address. It may be a pain in the @ss but it’s better than being sorry later.
