Visual.ly now live, infographics-sharing made easyVisual.ly is now more than an infographics source as they launch today new features that allow their millions of users enjoy unique infographics-sharing experience making the site gain the ultimatum as the “first social network for data visualization!”

With newly added features, Visual.ly now allow users to easily share and explore infographics more than usual! User profile has been nicely improved to enhance personalized experience and even promote their company or brand. Users can collect infographics of their interests, upload and promote their work and follow topics and people they like. The most noticeable feature in the user profile is the metrics that shows statistics about the infographics the user shared.

The site has also made it for infographic users/designers the ability to add badge to their profile picture to indicate that they’re certified designer so they can easily promote their work across the site. This also matters in the coming months for Visual.ly as the data visualization site also plans to launch an infographic marketplace intended for journalists, researchers, designers, and programmers.

The Visual.ly community and marketplace features are key to our mission to bring infographics and data visualization to the mainstream. We want to make it even easier for everyone to participate, communicate, and collaborate.

I do personally love infographics. That idea of simply using graphics or icons with limited texts rather than explaining it in a bunch of paragraphs is sometimes more ideal and even more meaningful! It can also help readers (through infographics) easily visualize the bottom line of a particular topic.

Infographics have been recently popular in the web and many sites out there tries to provide the same services but not as promising as Visual.ly. We’ll see if this move will be a game changer and will open new doors of opportunities for aspiring designers.
