During the media event held at EDSA Shangri-La, ZTE Philippines announces their flagship handset Skate 4.3 Smartphone; a 4.3-Inch Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) phone that uses a 1 GHz Qualcomm processor.

The Skate 4.3 Smartphone is the successor of the ZTE Blade smartphone, which has been the company’s flagship product for the last 12 months. Over three million Blade handsets have been sold in more than 50 countries worldwide.

ZTE Skate Specs :

  • 4.3-Inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 480 x 800 resolution
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread
  • 1 GHz Qualcomm processor
  • 512 MB RAM, 4GB micro SD pre-installed expandable up to 32GB
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Wi-Fi hotspot
  • GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900MHz
  • HSPDA/UMTS 900/2100MHz or 850/1900MHz, HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, HSUPA 7.2 mbps
  • 11.35 mm (slim) Thickness
  • 5 MP rear facing camera with LED flash
  • Li-Ion 1400 mAh Standard battery

I’m still verifying the exact availability of the ZTE Skate 4.3 and if it’s upgradable to any later version of Android, but the reported SRP is Php13,990, a bit pricey considering other android phones from major manufacturers are also within that price range and using the later version of Android OS.
