Pinterest now open to public, no invites needed!

Written by | Social Media

Two days ago, Pinterest announced that it will now accept new users without any invites, which means anyone with an email address, facebook or twitter account can create their own Pinterest account.

Pinterest is a pinboard-style social photo sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests, hobbies, and more. The site was launched last March 2010 within just 9 months the site have more than 10 million users — that’s when they’re still using an invites-only sign-up model — making Pinterest one of the fastest growing social network sites. To put it in perspective, twitter only have 3 million users on their after two years of launching, on it’s first year FB only have 6 million, so you can see that there have been a lot of people interested in Pinterest.

Pinterest already have an iOS and I’m sure an Android and Windows Phone app is on the way, so if you prefer to use your smartphone or tablet for pinning they got you covered, well if you’re using an iphone or an iPad.

To join the network just go to or using their app, plus you can follow me Pinterest.Com/teknisyan. 🙂
