This is an uncharacteristic of Samsung, since they usually do not disclose sales number and it looks like Samsung wants to create a new habit by sharing sales numbers to the consuming public. Published on their Korean site, Samsung announced that Samsung Galaxy Note II’s global cumulative sales have exceeded 5 Million units sold in just 2 months.

The original Galaxy Note was the first of it’s kind smartphone and dubbed as “Phablet” since it’s too big to be a smartphone and small to be considered as a tablet. The Note II was first announced at this year’s IFA in Berlin and officially went on sale last September.

Samsung also said in the press release that sales of the Note II has been even in all regions including Asia, Europe, North America, Latin America, and the Middle East and Africa. These are impressive sales number, considering the original Note took 1 whole quarter to reach the 5 million units sold and as of June 2012, Samsung announced that 7 million had been shipped.
