Google releases Search app on iOS with Voice Search

Written by | Apps and OS, Google

Google just release Search app on iOS for iPhone and iPads, the app is not just about Google Search but also have features like Voice Search, links to other Google Services (Blogger, Gmail, Calendar, G Drive, Photos, Voice, Translate and more).

Actually, the main feature of the Google Search App is the Voice Search — which I’ve been testing for more than half a day now and my son seems to be enjoying talking to the app — and even though the voice search does not talk back like Siri does it’s search result is far better than Siri, since it immediately displays the search results and unlike Siri which is only available to iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 ownsers, the Google Search App can be installed on iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches.

Even though Apple is slowly but surely tries to remove any trace of Google from it’s idevices, the Google Search App gives Google the advantage of being the first search app on iOS and they (Google) don’t need to pay Apple pay $1 billion to be the default search engine, once idevice owner become accustom in using the Search App.

Here are some screen shot of the Google Search App.
The app is free and you can download it here.
