So the iPhone 5 is now officially available here in the Philippines starting today, December 14, and everyone can now visit the nearest Globe store and iPhone 5 official partner dealers (such as Powermac) nationwide to avail this smartphone.
Just as eager as all iPhone fans, I decided to join the bandwagon and dropped by to one of Globe’s events. The Pamaskong Handog ng Globe at New Glorietta Palm Drive is a celebration and concert event to welcome the newest, coolest, tallest and thinnest iPhone ever!
BRIGHTEST STARS COME TOGETHER
It got so much more than just a simple celebration because the night was brightened by the stars, talents and bands in the country including 6 Cycle Mind, Parokya ni Edgar, Bamboo, Nikki Gil, Paulo Avelino, Robi Domingo, Christian Bautista, Jed Madela, Billy Crawford, Barbie Forteza and Joshua Dionisio, Xyriel Manabat and Zaijan Jaranilla, Cesar Montano, Ms. Zsa Zsa Padilla with her daughter Zia Quizon and Ms. Kris Aquino.
The event kicks off with performances of 6 Cycle Mind and Parokya ni Edgar that gave audience entertainment before formally opening the program to start the countdown.
Nikki Gil and Robi Domingo were hosts of the night–they were actually good at hosting together sharing their excitement of the unveiling of the new iPhone 5 from Globe.
Xyriel Manabat when asked what she would want to have this Christmas said “Kahit ano po basta blessing” while Zaijan preferred to greet in person rather than writing it on Christmas card when asked how he would greet his family and loved ones this Christmas.
After Monica’s flabbergasting performance, hot tween stars Barbie Forteza and Joshua Dionisio serenade the audience with mellow and quite upbeat Christmas songs. It was followed then by an interactive game ‘Pass the Message’ where the two actively participates in the game together with hosts Robi and Nikki.
Crowd goes wild when the next artist to grace the night was introduced. Walang Hanggan star, Paulo Avelino was also at the event to join the countdown to iPhone 5!
Another artist to grace the night was TM endorser, Mr. Cesar Montano where he and Robi also host another challenging game.
Yet the deluge of the stars at the Globe iPhone 5 event seems never ending! Asian sensation Christian Bautista also shared an unforgettable moment with the audience performing the theme song of the currently hit ‘Princess and I’ and his personal favorite Christmas song, Little Drummer Boy.
Few hours before 12:00 midnight, Queen of all media, Ms. Kris Aquino and Globe’s Advisor for the Consumer Customer Facing Unit, Mr. Peter Bithos shared to the audience what Globe has gone so far in its pursuit to being the best telecommunication provider in the Philippines. Ms Kris Aquino was a Globe user herself since 1996 and ever since her switched she enjoyed all the services of Globe. Mr. Peter meanwhile shared that Globe has invested a cool USD$700 million for the network upgrade which is about to finish on the first quarter of 2013. We (globe subscribers) should experience a better communication then when this upgrade finally took its full effect next year.
And the sky was suddenly brightened up as fireworks blasted with synchronized music. More performances then followed after to gleam further the night!
IPHONE 5 OFFICALLY BECOMES AVAILABLE ON GLOBE
At this moment, the countdown to iPhone 5 has only few minutes left. Ms. Zsa zsa Padilla and her daughter Zia Quizon performed together before finally unveiling iPhone 5. Mr. Peter Bithos with Marc Nelson (Sports Unlimited) and Rovilson Fernandez (Ang Pinaka), now the hosts of the nigh,t joined everyone to witness the much awaited gadget!
LOYAL CUSTOMER IS FIRST GLOBE IPHONE 5 OWNER
If last year President Noynoy Aquino was the first iPhone 4 user, Globe selected a loyal customer to become the first owner of Globe iPhone 5 in the country this year. He’s none other than Atty. Domingez, a certified Globe user since 1994!
Bamboo gave the last performance of the night capping the epic iPhone 5 launching of Globe.
