WordPress 3.5 or what they’re calling “Elvin” – in honor of drummer Elvin Jones – is now available and if you’re using WordPress for your self-hosted blog, you should be able to see the update notification by now.
The major changes have been made with 3.5 are mostly on the media manager and how wordpress manages multi-media, they’ve also streamlined and completely re-imagined workflow when uploading photos and creating galleries. You can now also insert multiple images at once using Shift/Ctrl+click or multiple selection.
And for those who are using iDevices with Retina display, WordPress 3.5 is now Retina-ready using high resolution graphics, a new color picker, and streamlining a couple of fewer-used sections of the admin panel.
Other notable enhancement with the new WordPress 3.5 are; Default Theme; Welcome screen, better accessibility for screenreaders, touch devices, and keyboard users and the new Tumblr importer.
They’ve also created a video showing you that overview of the new WordPress 3.5
