Kodak to launch a Micro Four Thirds camera called “Kodak S1”

After selling their more than 1,000 digital patents for $527 Million to Apple and Co., Kodak surprised the photogs community by announcing that they’ll launched a Micro Four Thirds camera called “Kodak S1” in partnership with JK Imaging; the company that will design and create the new Kodak branded camera.

Kodak officially unveil the mirror-less camera in a Press Conference in Peking and people at PC Online where at the event to cover the story. Not much have been mention about the specs or price of the camera aside from the fact that it will use a Sony CMOS sensor, a built-in WiFi function and expected date of release will at the 3rd quarter of this year.

Enter the Micro Four Thirds camera category, Kodak is playing catch-up to Sony, Olympus and Panasonic. We’ll just have to wait and see what kind of camera JK manufactures for Kodak.
