If you read this post from Yugatech, you’ll wonder when it will be official, well it’s now official Smart and Globe are the 4G LTE provider for iPhone 5 in the Philippines. Actually they’re the only network that rolled-out LTE Connection in the Metro.

So far Smart was the first to announce the available plans for their 4G LTE Connectivity, though they did not mention if the current iPhone 5 plans already include the 4G LTE connection. I guess we’ll hear from them soon enough, while Globe is yet to complete it’s LTE roll-out and announced it’s plans.

The bands supported by Globe and Smart are 1 (2100 MHz), 3 (1800 MHz) and 5 (850 MHz), so in order for your iPhone 5 to support the LTE connection provided by Globe and Smart, you must be using the Model A1429 and the latest version of iOS which is version 6.1 and to check model of your iPhone 5 just go here.
