I just thought that there was just a problem with the Adbrite code that I installed on my site and it looks the problem is much worst, at least for Adbrite employees. Starting today Feb 1, 2013 (or yesterday) the company will no longer be in operation and the only reason that Adbrite will be shutting that they mention in their email its because of “market conditions and certain financial liabilities“.
No word as to what will happen to all 26 Adbrite employee and the plan to sell the company “fell through“, which could have forced the company to just closed shop.
Here’s the complete email.
Dear adBrite Publisher,
Over the last few weeks, adBrite and its management have been evaluating the go-forward plan for the business. Given market conditions and certain financial liabilities, in working with our lenders, we have decided to cease operations on Feb 1, 2013.
This is a difficult decision for all of us at adBrite. However, after much deliberation this seems to be the best course of action despite the impact it will have on all the employees, clients and partners who helped build this business. There will be a team in place as needed to assist with winding down.
Thank you for being part of the adBrite community.
The adBrite Team
I have a publisher account at Adbrite and got the “farewell” email, if you’re asking how much did I earn from ads served by Adbrite? Well its no more than $35. Though I’m not sure if there is a way for me to get it or if I can even request to get it.
