Remember Google Glass? Well, it looks like Google is preparing the G.Glass for mass production and have been testing the glass in the wild and when I said “the wild” I do mean in real world situations, you know like riding a hot air balloon, performing a ballet, sculpting, horseback riding and all those things that we usually do.
And rather than releasing a promotional video containing of what you “might” see using the G. Glass, Google showed off the actual Google Glass UI and all the things that it can actually do.
Google is also running a promotional program called the “Glass Explorer”, where the company will give a selected few Americans who are willing to pre-order a Glass Explorer Edition for $1500 and can provide the most creative answer to the question “what you would do if you had Glass?“. More on that here.
Just post your answer using the hashtag #ifihadglass on your Twitter or Google+, your answer must not be longer than 50 words, can include up to 5 photos and video (15 secs max), then just make sure you follow Google+ (+ProjectGlass) or Twitter (@projectglass). You have until Feb 27, to send application and Google will contact you directly if you’re selected.
It looks like Google will only have a number of G. Glass units available via their “Glass Explorer Program” and Google appears to be looking for the ultimate Google Fanboy who are willing to pay Google just be G. Glass beta testers. So it may still take time before we see Google mass producing these eye pieces and for now we just have to rely on the Internet to satisfy our Google Glass curiosity.
