VentureBeat is reporting that Microsoft’s Windows Store just passed the 50k mark for the number of Apps available for Windows 8 RT and Windows 8 Pro users.
The exact number is 50,304 and that was according to MetroStore Scanner – a site that provide information on applications available to the Windows Store as well as track the number of submitted and approved apps.
Looking at the MetroStore Scanner data the number of app submission each month decreased, since Windows Store was first made available with Windows 8 Consumer Preview on February 29, 2012.
Plus it’s unfair to compare the number of available apps of Windows Store with Itunes, Google Play Store, as well BlackBerry World, since application can still be installed (a.k.a. traditional boxed installer) on Windows 8 even if they are not on the Windows Store.
