Google is now rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat

Google has started rolling out Android 7.0 a.k.a. Android Nougat to Nexus devices.

In a blogpost, Google said;

Today, and over the next several weeks, the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and General Mobile 4G (Android One) will get an over the air software update** to Android 7.0 Nougat. Any devices enrolled in the Android Beta Program will also receive this final version.

Android 7.0 Nougat was first announced last March 2016 with the release of the developer preview, which is now out of beta.

Here are some of the notable features of Android Nougat;

  • Multi-window
  • Direct reply notifications
  • Bundled notifications
  • Improved Doze
  • Improved Java 8 language support

If you are using any of the devices mentioned above, you can go to Settings > About Phone > Update Center > Software Update, to update your Nexus device.
