Facebook immediately actives “Safety Check” after a bomb exploded at Davao’s night market on Friday night, September 2, killed at least 14 people and injured more than 60 people.

The FB Safety Check notification appears to have been sent to people who are not in Davao, since my friends in Pampanga and Manila have received the notification as well.

Launched last October 2014, Facebook Safety Check is a feature on the social network that allows you to tell family and friends that you are safe after a major crisis, Safety check also allows you to check if your friends are safe as well.
