MERALCO sustained its meteoric rise from cellar dweller to championship contender as it shocked TNT Katropa, 94-88, to make its first-ever trip to the PBA finals in franchise history.

Cliff Hodge pumped in a career-high 32 points, the last three on a dagger three-pointer from right win that sealed the deal for the Bolts, standing tallest for a resurgent team that two just two conferences ago finished at the bottom of the standings.

Bolts completed the upset, and yes it’s an upset because everyone including me expect TNT to just walk to the finals and wait for the Ginebra – San Miguel series.

Talk N’ Text are 10 wins and just 1 lost in the elimination round, while Meralco Bolts won 6 times and lost 5 games.
