Barangay Ginebra recently defeated San Miguel Beer, their sister company and will advance to the PBA Finals for the first time in 3 years. If you’re a long time Filipino baskeball fan, you will probably hear or have heard that the PBA games are scripted and that the league favors certain teams to advance to the Finals to increase gate attendance and revenue.

If this is the kind of thinking that you have, then you are not only insulting the league but also the player who trained almost half their life to play the level of basketball that we have not. You are insulting the team owners who spend more than Php100 million pesos to secure a franchise and maintain a basketball team.

You are also insulting the basketball fans who have sleepless nights whenever their team lost or feel as if they won the lotto if their team won via miracle 3 pointer.

You are also insulting yourself because despite your claim you still watch and enjoy watching the PBA, and if you still have this kind of view for this coming Finals, it would be better if you stop watching the game, because what’s the point if the game is scripted and you already know the outcome.
