A dash cam video posted by Charles Rotter have been making rounds online because it caught an autonomous Uber from beating the red light near San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The dashcam video is from a Luxor Cab.

In the video (embedded below) you can see the self-driving Uer (Volvo) move past a red light, at least 2 seconds after the traffic light turned red. Uber first announced the testing of self-driving car in Pittsburg last September and in San Francisco yesterday.

In a statement sent by Uber to TechCrunch, the company said that the incident was caused by the human error and that they are currently investigating the issue.

This incident was due to human error. This is why we believe so much in making the roads safer by building self-driving Ubers. This vehicle was not part of the pilot and was not carrying customers. The driver involved has been suspended while we continue to investigate.

It’s unclear what is the actual cause of the problem but Uber needs to fix this ASAP.
