LTFRB Orders Wunder and Angkas To Cease Operations

Written by | Careers, Philippines, Tech

In a series of tweets, the Land Transportation Franchising & Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ordered not one but two startups to cease operation. The two startups in question are Wunder Philippines and Angkas.

In their press release, LTFRB said that both Wunder and Angkas are considered as another form of Transport Network Company (TNC) that has not coordinate with the agency, which means they cannot operate.

Both company needs to stop all bookings made on their platform, or LTFRB will take legal action against both companies.

Wunder is a car-pooling platform from Europe, while Angkas is an on-demand motorcycle taxi service, similar to Grab Bike and GoJek.

I’ve reach-out to Wunder and Angkas for their comment regarding LTFRB’s press release and will update you as soon as we receive a response.
