Google officially announces Android Wear 2.0, will come to supported Smart Watches

Google has officially release the next version of Android Wear, a flavor of Android designed specifically for smart watches and other wearables.

The new Android Wear 2.0 will bring Google Assistant, new watch faces, Google Fit and a dedicated smart watch app store.

Google Assistant is a feature introduced last year at Google I/O last year. With the Google Assistant the smart watch wearer can engage in two-way conversations and provide answers about the weather, Google Assistant is powered by Google’s natural language processing algorithm, which allows users to talk to their watch like talking to another person.

Google also announced the LG Watch Style and LG Watch, the first smartwatches to be running Android Wear 2.0, both smartwatch was designed in collaboration between LG and Google.

Google also said that Android Wear 2.0 will roll out to all supported watches in the coming weeks. You can checkout the list of supported smart watches below;

Android Wear 2.0 is Google’s second chance in the wearable market, since Android-powered smart watch have not been successful in carving a big chunk of the smartwatch market, which at time is owned by Apple and non-android wearables.
