Nokia announces 2 Android phones and a remake of 3310

At the 2017 Mobile World Congress in Spain, Nokia with the help of HMD announced Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and a modern version of the classic 3310.

The Nokia 3, a low-end android smartphone in today’s standard but packs a punch with it’s polycarbonate body and aluminium frame, features a 5.0-inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, covered by a Material 2.5D sculpted Corning® Gorilla® Glass. Both the front and rear camera features the same 8MP camera.

Nokia 3 uses a Quad-core 1.3Ghz MTK 6737 processor will run Android 7 “Nougat” right out of the box with a 2 GB of RAM and a 16 GB of storage that’s expandable up to 128 GB via microSD.

Compare to Nokia 3, the Nokia 5 is a much faster android phone running Android 7 “Nougat” using Qualcomm’s faster Snapdragon 430 processor and a larger 5.2 HD display. Nokia 5 sports a 6000 series aluminium body with a 5.2-inch sculpted Corning Gorilla glass display.

Probably the most anticipated phone in this year’s Mobile World Congress is the announcement of the modernized Nokia 3310. One of Nokia’s best selling phones because of its durability and battery life. The new Nokia 3310 will have a battery life that can last up to 22-hour talk-time and month long stand-by. The phone also features a remake of it hit game snakes. Nokia 3310 is perfect for parents to who wants to be in communication with their children but are too young for a full-blown smartphone.

Depending on consumer’s reception, we may see Nokia/HMD to modernize other old but classic Nokia phones like the 8210, 3210 and my all time favorite 5110.

All 3 phones will be available globally in April and will have an average global retail price of €189 for the Nokia 5, €139 and €49, for Nokia 3 and Nokia 3310, respectively.
