Viber introduces Secret Messages, a snapchat-like feature of self-descructing photos and videos

I guess, its never too late to clone a Snapchat feature, because Viber just introduced Secret Messages, a feature that allows a user to set a timer so that messages will self-destruct once it has been viewed or the time limit has expire.

The UX of the feature also appeared to have been inspired by Snapchat. To use Secret Messages, just a picture or video using the Viber camera or choose one from your gallery, set a time-limit and send. Once the media is opened on the recipient’s end, the secret message will be visible for the time set (or, for videos, the duration of the video) and then it will disappear, without a trace. On the sender’s end, a trace is left behind as an indication of when it was sent.
