Smart is currently testing their Emergency Cell Broadcast System (eCBS).
So if you’re a residents of Eastwood, Project 3, 4 and Murphy, Quezon City, expect an message from space that says;
The Emergency Cell Broadcast System (eCBS) is in compliance to RA No. 10639 or the Free Mobile Disaster Alert Act by , that allows National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOLCS), use wireless service provider to broadcast official disaster warning messages directly to all users, free of charge. The testing will last until tomorrow March 14, 2017.
The Emergency Cell Broadcast System (eCBS) is a perfect tool for Filipinos in times of disaster. On average, there are more 10 tropical storms make landfall in the Philippines each year, and experience a lot of seismic and volcanic activity.

If you like to enable emergency alerts on your phone, make sure you are using the latest version of your mobile OS then follow these steps below;
For iOS users;
1. Go to Settings > Notifications.
2. Scroll to the very bottom of the screen.
3. Under Government Alerts, turn the type of alert on or off.
For Android users;
1. Go to “Settings”.
2. Find the option “More…”.
3. Locate the “Emergency Broadcasts”.
4. Then turn on notification for “Emergency alert broadcasts”
