Looks like Marvel’s next anti-hero movie will be Venom, as Sony announced that Tom Hardy just signed on as Eddie Brock and will be suiting up as Venom, in the standalone movie that is scheduled on October 5, 2018. Production for the movie will start this fall and will be helm by Zombieland Director Ruben Fleischer.

This will not be the first big screen exposure for Venom, since he was the main antagonist in Spider-Man 3 back in 2007. In the comics, Venom is one of the most loved and hated villain of Spiderman, and have teamed-up with Spider-Man, Iron Man, Deadpool, Hulk, and other Marvel heroes.
Tom Hardy will be joining Halle Berry, Ben Affleck, Ryan Reynolds and James Marsden, as one of the few and biggest Hollywood star to be in a DC and Marvel film.
