Kontra-GaPi perfectly cover Game of Thrones opening theme using Folk Instruments

Here’s something to help you pass time while waiting for the next episode of Games of Thrones season 7.

Kontra-GaPi (Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino) of the University of Philippines covered of the opening theme of Game of Thrones using traditional folk instruments. The group used folk musical instruments like kulintang, gangsa, tongatong, kulibet and gitgit, just to name a few.

This Filipino – South East Asian interpretation of the “Game of Thrones” Opening Theme is arranged & performed by Art Studies Professor Edru Abraham & Ang Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino (Kontra-GaPi), the resident ethnic music & dance ensemble of the College of Arts & Letters, University of the Philippines.
