Youtube rolls-out in-app messaging feature to its app

Written by | Apps and OS, Tech

Youtube just added an in-app messaging feature to its app, where users can share, receive videos within the app and at the sametime chat about the video that they shared.

The in-app messaging is built-within the share button, so users do not need to leave the app when they want to share a video to a friend. The feature was previously available Youtube users in Canada but now it’s being roll-out to users globally.

With more than 1.5 billion users, adding a messaging feature to the Youtube app is a step closer for the service to become a full-blown social media service. Youtube app is available to both iOS and Android users.
