Sporting a familiar design, Apple has officially announce the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
Design-wise, both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus sports a familiar design that was introduced by Apple with the iPhone 6, but using glass and aluminum materials.
Specs wise, the both the iPhones shares a number of components with the iPhone X, specially the iPhone 8 Plus. Like the A11 Bionic chip with neural engine, IP67 meaning its splash, water, and dust resistant. For the full specs, you can go here.
The iPhone 8 Plus has the same camera as the iPhone X; redesigned dual 12-megapixel rear camera system with dual optical image stabilization. The dual camera system uses a wide-angle (ƒ/1.8 aperture) and a telephoto camera (ƒ/2.4 aperture), it supports new HEIF and HEVC image and video formats, and can capture in low light surrounding and better HDR photos. It also has a new quad LED True Tone Flash like the iPhone X.
The iPhone 8 on the other hand is equipped with 12MP camera (ƒ/1.8 aperture) with new quad LED True Tone Flash, sapphire crystal lens cover and capable of 4K video recording for up to 60 fps.
Both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will have a 7MP front camera (ƒ/2.2 aperture) with Retina Flash and supports 1080p HD video recording.
Both phones will also have Retina HD displays with True Tone, it’ll be 4.7-inch for the iPhone 8 and 5.5-inch for the iPhone 8 Plus. True Tone will automatically adjust the white balance of the screen to match the surrounding light. With regards to audio, Apple redesigned the stereo speakers that are up to 25 percent louder and with deeper bass for a richer-sounding music, videos and speakerphone calls.
iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will run iOS 11 out of the box and it features advancements to Portrait mode and new effects in the Live Photos. Just like with the iPhone X, iOS 11 will bring augmented reality to both iPhone 8 and iPhone 8.
Both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are designed for augmented reality, taking advantage of the new A11 Bionic and, the new gyroscopes and accelerometers for accurate motion tracking. Just like with the iPhone X, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus supports Qi’s wireless charging tech.
iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be available in space gray, silver and an all-new gold finish in 64GB and 256GB capacity models.
