Uber launches UberFLASH and UberTAXI in Malaysia

In order to provide more choices to commuters in Malaysia, Uber is launching two new services in the country; UberFLASH and UberTAXI.

On their official announcement, Uber explains what UberFLASH and UberTaxi are;

UberFLASH will connect riders to the driver-partner closest to them – whether that is an uberX or a taxi on the e-hailing network. This means even shorter wait times! With UberFLASH, you’ll enjoy the same affordable uberX prices and you’ll know your fare upfront before you confirm your ride request.

UberTAXI is a service in which taxis – including sedans and MPVs – are available upon request via the Uber App. Prices will be based on the taxi meter, but may be subject to dynamic pricing in times of high demand. Riders will be able to pay seamlessly through the Uber app.

The combination of UberFLASH and UberTAXI will provide shorter wait time for riders and more opportunities for drivers/partners, maximizing the benefits of Uber’s technology.

Uber did not mention if they will introduce UberFLASH and UberTAXI in the Philippines, though it sounds like this will help the company in establishing a good relationship with the taxi operators in the country.
