In an effort to keep users within the service, specially when they want to order a pizza or that tasty sushi that they saw from their friends post. Facebook will now allow users to order food directly on Facebook, either using their app or via facebook.com.
Facebook will be tapping food ordering services like EatStreet, Delivery.com, DoorDash, ChowNow and Olo, and order the food from restaurants like Papa John’s, Wingstop, Panera, Jack in the Box, TGI Friday’s, Denny’s, El Pollo Loco, Chipotle, Five Guys and Jimmy John’s.
To use this new feature and order food directly on Facebook, you can go to the new option “Order Food” in the Explore menu of Facebook app, from there you can browse restaurants in near you and click “Start Order” when you’ve decided what you want to order.
Facebook have been testing this feature since last year and after responding to user feedback and adding more partners, it will be available to Facebook users in the United States using iOS, Android and desktop.
Tif this catches on, I’m sure the company will be thinking of introducing the service in other markets.
