eCommerce goes Live

After a delayed launched last January, ecommerce is now online. The service however is currently available in Dubai and will be available in Saudi Arabia in the coming months.

Last November, Mohamed Alabbar and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) announced that they will launch the region’s largest e-commerce platform and will offer more than 20 million products. Noon will have initial $1 billion capital and will be equally owned by Saudi Arabia’s PIF and Mohamed Alabbar.

For those who are not familiar with Mohamed Alabbar, he is the founder and chairman of Emaar Properties, the real estate company behind Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building and Dubai Mall, the world’s largest mall.

UAE residents can order via Noon’s website or their Android app, an iOS app is currently in development. Users can order a wide variety of products like electronics, health & beauty, fragrances, grocery, baby products and homeware. Noon also offers products from major brands Nike, Apple, Samsung, Mothercare, Tefal, Burberry and more.
