Together with the 280 character limit for each tweets, Twitter just increased the character for your twitter name to 50, up from the original 20. The new limit will allow users to use their full name or even add an emoji or two. I myself have a very long name and this will surely be handy if I decide to use my full name in the future.

To change your display name, just go to your Profile, then click EDIT PROFILE. You can then edit your display name together with the information. A twitter username can be up to 15 characters long, while a twitter display name can be up to 50 characters long.
