Google consolidates Android Pay and Google Wallet, into a one service called Google Pay

This is a long over due rebranding and merging of service, since starting today, Google’s Android Pay and Google Wallet will now be combined into a single service called Google Pay.

By definition, both Android Pay and Google Wallet are payment service developed by Google, wherein Google Wallet allows users to send and receive money, while Android Pay allows users to make payments with Android phones, tablets or watches, and support NFC Payments.

With Google Pay, it will the best of both worlds, your payment information will be saved to your Google Account and you can use it make online purchases and subscription, app payments and in retail stores with NFC Payments.

From their official announcement, Google Pay is already available on Airbnb, Dice, Fandango, HungryHouse, Instacart with more sites, apps and retail stores to support it in the coming weeks.
